I purchased a used 2001 V70 @ 35k miles, before all the transmission horror stories surfaced. I had the transmission software update at about 50k and a fluid flush. Flushed again at about 75k and 100k.
Having around 70 extra horsepower doesn't hurt either, the car is way faster than the V70. On the minus side the V60 has a higher belt line and the roof slopes down, so the visibility is not as good as the V70. The blind spot warning system and parking camera/sensors are appreciated for sure! Overall the V70 is a bigger car that can hold more.
