Been using it for years and no bans. Vpns are unlikely to help you as the traffic is encrypted adding an extra overhead. They also don't optimise for game path.
Example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" -assetsrv 62.154.232.120 It is recommended to remove this at a later point, to let the loadbalancers do the load balancing work. This patch is a big one btw, 945MB
